The Ballard Five

Hey y’all!

Thanks for dropping by. My name is Amanda and I’m the mother of three incredible daughters, Sophie, Lilly and Evelyn. Along with my husband, Walter, we make up the Ballard five. We live in Kentucky and think that it’s a little piece of heaven on earth. Seriously, if you’ve never been to KY, you should give it a try…you might end up changing your zip code.

When I’m not working or wiping noses, I like to cook (really, I do!), crochet, read–you know, boring stuff you can’t do when the kids are awake.  I like the Beatles, fall, coffee, binge watching Netflix, and crafty stuff. I do not like vacuuming, driving a minivan, student loans, grits or mornings.

Walter is an awesome daddy to our three daughters. He has just the right amount of patience and humor. He also does not flinch at wearing a tutu, sitting through a tea party or getting a make-over. He’s a pretty good sport, even though he doesn’t get to watch sports anymore.

Sophie is almost five and is a sharp little girl. She is wise beyond her years and she NEVER forgets ANYTHING. It’s a blessing and a curse. Lilly is our middle daughter and she is hilarious. She is so witty at the tender age of three, that I’m a little very scared of her teenage years. Evelyn is our newest (and lastest) addition. What can I say about a nearly five month old that eats and sleeps like a champ, and rarely cries? She is an absolute joy!

Walter and I both work full time outside of the home, so we don’t get as much time as we’d like with each other or the girls, but when we do all get together, fun times (and shenanigans) often ensue. The girls are a constant source of entertainment and mostly ooze sweetness and glitter. I don’t know what I did to deserve all of them, but I must have done some pretty fantastic stuff in a former life.

Damn! What a cute bunch of kids! Their parents must have super-genes!
